Participation in the 2024 AIPPI World Congress in Hangzhou, China
Three members from our firm, Fumio AKIYAMA, Tatsuya SASAKI, and Hiroko TAKIKAWA attended the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) World Congress held in Hangzhou, China, from Friday, October 18 to Wednesday, October 22, 2024.
The AIPPI World Congress, attended by over 2,000 patent attorneys and lawyers, rotates its location each year to facilitate information exchange and foster interaction among international IP professionals. It serves as a unique forum for building and strengthening networks within the global IP community.
Given this year’s congress held in China, many Chinese firms hosted exhibition booths and organized receptions. We also attended several of these reception events.
Throughout the Congress, we met with many agents, mainly from China, to gather insights on global IP trends, deepen ties with our existing networks, and establish connections with new partners.
Following the AIPPI Congress, We traveled from Hangzhou to Shanghai, and visited local agent offices to further strengthen collaborations.
In anticipation of the next year's World Congress, scheduled to take place in Yokohama, Japan, in September 2025, our firm looks forward to participating actively in the discussions and exchanges.
