Organization
01. One-stop
Patent attorneys, administrative staff members, and translators are assigned to each client so that they can better understand the assigned client’s business. Patent attorneys are responsible for filing applications as well as prosecution in Japan and other countries.
Multiple technical groups of optimal sizes are organized to ensure flexibility and independence. The administrative department responds to various requests, including reporting methods specified by each client.
02. Specialty
Our firm handles many foreign applications and we have many staff members who are specialized in foreign intellectual property systems.
The technical department has a demonstrated track record in providing practical guidance, such as being stationed at clients’ offices and providing intellectual property training to clients.
The administrative department, which is independent from the technical department and is under the President’s supervision, is able to make decisions independently in order to facilitate smooth operation.
In addition, the administrative and technical departments maintain close cooperation.
We have put structures in place to prepare translations and drawings in-house, and we promote digitization through the use of digital technologies, such as RPA and VBA macros, to reduce errors and to boost work efficiency.

A patent firm’s greatest asset is its human capital. We conduct our business by placing importance on communication, teamwork, and consideration to colleagues.
In our efforts to develop an open workplace in which all staff members can demonstrate their full potential over the long term, we place great focus on constructing good relationships and trust within the firm.
In order to improve our capabilities and share information, we hold study meetings and case studies regularly in firm-wide, technical, and administrative group units.

We have set our sights on what is required in each era to grow toward the future as professionals specialized in global intellectual property, and we perform our duties with a view to the next generation and a pioneering spirit. We adopt long-term perspectives to pursue sustainable enhancement of value as an IP Firm and to contribute to the development of our clients’ intellectual property activities for many years to come.

Firm's Name and Logo
Our firm's name “WisePlus” is registered in English
and is pronounced the same as “Y's Plus”.
The name “WisePlus” means “Y's Plus”, which is a combination of the “Yasutomi's (i.e., Y's) value”
that we have cultivated up to now, and adding (i.e., Plus) more value.
We will continue to foster the trust and devotion embodied in the name “YASUTOMI & Associates”
and move forward into the future, positioning ourselves as professionals
who will play a leading role in global intellectual property.
With the change of the firm's name,
we have created a new logo for WisePlus IP Firm.
Our new logo mark retains the image of the logo mark, Y, of YASUTOMI & Associates,
with another Y added to the logo to create the letter W, the initial letter of WisePlus.
The logo is designed to convey the firm's history and growth,
with the green color gradually deepening from light green at one Y to dark green at the other Y.
In addition, the logo features a mosaic pattern in the upper right corner,
inspired by the green mosaic design used on the website and logo of YASUTOMI & Associates,
with additional colors incorporated into the pattern to suggest further change and growth,
as well as expansion and elevation.
